Civic Coalition MP Izabela Leszczyna, in an interview in the “Women’s Choice” podcast on TVN24, announced that the social benefits granted by PiS will be maintained by the new government coalition. – However, we will absolutely implement our hundred specifics, or the election promises of the coalition parties – she added.
Izabela Leszczyna from the Civic Coalition, when asked in the “Women’s Choice” podcast on TVN24 about the state of Polish finances, admitted that “they do not resemble what we left Poland with in 2015 after the government of the PO and PSL coalition.”
The MP drew attention to three indicators. – When we gave Poland back PiS, economic growth was almost 4 percent of GDP, and today it is zero. The deficit was then 2.6 percent of GDP, and today it is 6 percent. Investments then amounted to over 20 percent of GDP, today they amount to about 16 percent, she said. – This shows the scale of the lack of skills in managing public finances and the economy – she said.
Leszczyna: social benefits granted by PiS will be maintained
Izabela Leszczyna assured that despite the high deficit after the PiS government, the promise of introducing a tax-free amount of PLN 60,000 will be fulfilled. The MP stated that there would also be a significant pay raise for teachers, reimbursement of in vitro fertilization from the state budget, the so-called granny allowance and the retention of the 800 plus program.
– All social benefits that PiS granted in bad or good faith will, of course, be preserved, too 500 plus indexed to PLN 800. However, we will absolutely implement our one hundred specifics, or the election promises of the coalition parties. We have a plan to increase budget revenues, this is extremely important KPO, a stream of hard currency from the European Union – she emphasized.
– KPO has a whole range of meanings, because it is not only money for investments, but also regaining credibility. The whole world will see that Poland is again pro-European, law-abiding, stable and reliable, it will be possible to lend it money cheaper because it will fall inflationwill be lower interest rates, the economy will start spinning. First of all, private investors will start investing because they will know that there is stable law, because they will know that the courts are not partisan, she added.
Leszczyna: the later the government is formed, the less time there is for changes in the budget
When asked whether the new coalition was planning to amend the budget, she replied that “You can only prepare a budget based on dozens or even hundreds of officials in the Ministry of Finance and on the full knowledge they have.” – It is impossible to work on the budget without being a government – she explained.
– It depends on the president. The later the government is formed, the less time there will be for possible changes in the budget that is before the Sejm. If this government is formed quite late, we may be forced to adopt the budget as it is and only then will we start working on the amendment, she said.
