A policeman from the Bureau of Anti-Terrorist Operations, and a lecturer at the Police Training Center, were charged with fraud. In a DIY store in Jabłonna, he was to replace the packaging of the goods. He took the drill to the cash register for a few zlotys lower than it actually was.
The incident took place at the end of November in a large DIY store in Jabłonna. One of the clients was detained right behind the cash desks by security guards. On the monitoring, they saw earlier that he could put more expensive drill bits into a package with cheaper ones. When a police patrol arrived, it turned out that the 48-year-old man caught by security was also an officer. Currently, as a sub-inspector, he serves in the Central Counter-Terrorism Sub-Unit of the BOA, he is also a shooting instructor, and he was delegated to BOA from his permanent place of work, i.e. the Police Training Center in Legionowo.
The charge of fraud
As reported by the rmf24.pl portal, the police officer was charged with this incident. These reports were confirmed in an interview with tvnwarszawa.pl, the spokeswoman for the Warsaw-Praga District Prosecutor’s Office, prosecutor Katarzyna Skrzeczkowska.
– The man was charged with fraud under Article 286, paragraph three, a minor case. In this case, it is a fraud in the amount of five zlotys. Such an act is punishable by a fine, restriction of liberty or imprisonment for up to two years – informed Skrzeczkowska. – The prosecutor’s office initiated an investigation because it concerns a public official. In such cases, the prosecutor’s office always initiates an investigation, and not the police, she emphasized. She added that the order to present the charges had been issued, but the interested party himself did not hear it because he “did not appear for the activities”.
– The commander of the Police Training Center decided to release a policeman from service regardless of the prosecutor’s decision – Szymon Koźniewski, the CSP spokesman, told us.
