Ionian: there will be no more such situations

On Friday before the committee Artur Soboń stoodthen deputy head of MAP, who replied to virtually all questions that “everything he had to say was included in the free part of his speech.”

Dariusz Joński, who heads the commission, when asked whether Jacek Sasin’s interrogation could look the same as Soboń’s, said that Soboń “said exactly nothing”, therefore the commission asked the court to impose a disciplinary penalty on him, and moreover will consider an application to the prosecutor’s office informing about the possibility of committing a crime.

– There will be no more situations like this. I won’t allow this, he said. He clarified that the investigative committee operates on the basis of the regulations of the Sejm, the Act on the Sejm Investigative Committee and the Code of Criminal Procedure. – I will use these records for politicians PIS They did not underestimate Poles, he announced.

He emphasized that the task of the investigative committee is to ask questions in order to prepare a report on its work at the end. He added that if there is evidence, the commission will submit applications to the prosecutor’s office or to bring the case before the State Tribunal.

As he said, he “can’t wait” for Wednesday’s committee meeting and Sasin’s hearing. He recalled that the former head of MAP supervised Poczta Polska, which – without a legal basis – was supposed to organize the 2020 presidential elections by correspondence and “wasted PLN 70 million on election packages.”

Sasin: it was the Prime Minister who made these decisions within his competences

Jacek Sasin said two weeks ago that he would “appear without any worries.” – This commission, we have said it from the beginning, to the extent that it was outlined by the ruling majority, i.e. as an attempt to judge PiS politicians responsible for conducting the elections, it obviously made no sense – he added.

Referring to the decisions made, he said that “everyone acted within the scope of their competences.” – According to the so-called Covid Act, the competences to issue appropriate decisions to Poczta Polska, PWPW, but also to relevant ministers, including the Minister of State Assets, i.e. me, but also the Minister of Interior, these competences belonged to the Prime Minister. It was the Prime Minister who made these decisions within his competences, not me, because I had no such competences – added the former Minister of State Assets.

As he said, “the constitution precisely defined the date on which the presidential elections are to be held in Poland.” – Based on the constitution, the Speaker of the Sejm Elżbieta Witek announced the election date and there was no movement here, because there is no way to change the election date, the constitution would have to be changed, and as we know, there was no majority on this, he said.
