Jacek Sasin, a member of the PiS Political Committee and former deputy prime minister, announced that the PiS autumn congress will make changes to the party's statute in order to create a new management structure with the participation of, among others, young politicians. The decision on who will form the new party authorities will be made by the PiS Political Council shortly after the congress.
Wirtualna Polska reported that “a team of several PiS politicians is working on a new party statute at the party's headquarters on Nowogrodzka Street.” “Long-time activists – such as party vice-presidents – may be included in a new body, provisionally called the 'general council.' The board is to be filled by younger generation politicians,” WP reported.
Jacek Sasin (PIS), asked about changes to the statute, explained that “this is the result of the discussion held in PiS in recent weeks on how to make party management more dynamic and renew the shape of the leadership”. He noted that “in Law and Justice there are currently many new faces, young politicians who are very active and appear in public”.
Sasin explained that the changes in the statute are aimed at including young politicians in the PiS leadership. Hence, as he explained, “the party's statute must be changed to create a new management structure with the participation of new people”. The former deputy prime minister said that decisions on changing the statute will be made at the PiS congress, which will be held in the autumn. – Such new structures will be proposed then – he said.
Sasin: changes are needed to be able to operate more effectively
Sasin also informed that the decision on who will become part of the new party authorities will be made after the congress by the PiS Political Council as the body authorized to do so. Asked when the Political Council will meet on this matter, he replied that it will be very soon after the change of the statute at the congress. Because, as he explained, “the congress is to create a certain organizational framework, change the shape of the party leadership so that it can operate much more effectively.”
Sasin was also asked whether it was these changes in the board that the party's vice-president Beata SzydÅ‚o was referring to, writing on Platform X: “If you don't want me in the PiS leadership so much, then say it publicly, and don't run around anonymously whispering to journalists.” – As for this matter, yesterday's statement by PiS spokesman RafaÅ‚ Bochenek is decisive here, who, on behalf of the party leadership, firmly denied that changes were planned in this particular area, i.e. the position of the party's vice-president in the case of Beata SzydÅ‚o and Antoni Macierewicz – replied the politician.
PiS spokesman RafaÅ‚ Bochenek wrote on Monday on X that on behalf of the PiS leadership he would like to draw attention to “the fact that no one has ever raised the issue of removing Beata SzydÅ‚o and Antoni Macierewicz from their positions as party vice-presidents”. He assured that media reports on the matter are false.
When asked who initiated the proposed changes, Sasin replied that it was the initiative of the PiS chairman. Jaroslaw Kaczynskidiscussed by the party leadership, primarily in the presidium of the political committee.
The changes, he explained, are aimed at making the party management more dynamic. According to him, they are imposed by the “current situation in Poland, including the extremely aggressive actions” of PiS's political competitors. – They require very efficient leadership and party management and these structural changes will go in that direction – announced the former deputy prime minister.
