The National Security Strategy will be updated. This is undoubtedly the time – said the head of the National Security Bureau, Jacek Siewiera, in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24. – The National Security Strategy is the main document about which there will be many discussions in the near future, because it provides the framework for the structure and functioning of the state – he added.

The head of the National Security Bureau, Jacek Siewiera, was asked in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24 about the words of Reserve General Rajmund Andrzejczak, who said on RMF FM a few days ago that Poland needs precise legal regulations that will allow the state to “enforce what is security necessary”. When asked what legal acts he was talking about, he said that the National Security Strategy, which “is not updated because it dates back to 2020, is already four years old, and the war has been going on for two.” – Now we would have to consider together whether these records of our main supervision, whether these threats and opportunities are up to date – he added.

Siewiera said that “this is a document that requires cooperation of the government and the president to establish it, and, above all, stable strategic conditions.” – We have a National Security Strategy, which does not have a longer operational period than the previous strategies issued by previous governments, but the situation has undoubtedly changed dynamically – he said.

According to the head of the National Security Bureau, “it would be very difficult to draw up a strategic plan, of which the National Security Strategy is the skeleton and framework, first of all, anticipating the scale of the pandemic that we have been dealing with, although there were those who predicted that it would happen sometime in the century, and it would be equally difficult write the National Security Strategy at a time when the shape of a real war, a full-scale conventional war, was unknown.

– The National Security Strategy is the main document about which there will be many discussions in the near future, because it provides the framework for the structure and functioning of the state – said Siewiera.
