Jacek W.'s legal problems have been known since 2022. In October of that year, he was detained due to the so-called minor crown witnesses. He was supposed to have actively participated in robberies, including several with weapons in 2016-17. The robbery that Jacek W. got caught for took place in Nowy Targ. A group of criminals dressed in police uniforms and, impersonating officers, stole 300 thousand złoty from a currency exchange office.
He played 189 matches in Ekstraklasa. He may go to jail
Now the former footballer is in even bigger trouble. As reported Gazeta Wyborcza“the prosecutor's office in Nowy SÄ…cz has completed the investigation into an organized armed criminal group whose members were to commit several dozen crimes in Silesia, Lesser Poland and Greater Poland in the years 2016-2019”. 23 people were accused, including Jacek W. The trial will be held in the District Court in Gliwice.
Jacek W. was not a “ten” on the pitch, but he is number 10 in the indictment. As “Wyborcza” has learned, he has been charged with seven counts: participation in an organized criminal group, robberies, attempted robberies and illegal possession of weapons. He was arrested during the investigation. He will now be answering in court from a free seat.
“Wyborcza” also writes about the shocking plan of the gang – an attack on Robert Lewandowski's villa. Such information was given to investigators by the leaders of the group – Grzegorz L. a.k.a. “MÅ‚ody” and Dariusz W. The first of them has the status of a minor crown witness. And the key role was supposed to be played by Jacek W., who exposed his wealthy friends and even family to the gang.
“According to the plan, Jacek W., who knew the footballer personally due to his previous sports career, was to obtain plans of his house in Germany. However, due to potential security measures and protection of the property, the group – apart from loose verbal projections – did not take any action to prepare for the robbery,” we read in the indictment.
– I could have jumped the Lewandowskis in Munich, but I knew that when I did it, the press would go crazy and dogs from all over Europe would do their best to catch the perpetrators. I decided that I didn't need it. Jacek W. accepted this decision because he wouldn't have been able to pull off such a jump himself – said “MÅ‚ody” quoted by “Wyborcza”.
Jacek W. played 189 matches at the Ekstraklasa level, scoring 12 goals. He represented Górnik Zabrze, Cracovia and WisÅ‚a PÅ‚ock. He also worked as a scout in Górnik Zabrze. This club even placed him in its “Hall of Fame”. Jacek W. also tried his hand at MMA, which he gave up after one fight.
