The head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, Jan Grabiec, announced in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24 that at Saturday's government meeting there would be “a lot of specific things in terms of budget provisions” related to the flood situation. He explained that this includes funds for sports facilities, libraries, schools, and the reconstruction of houses and apartments.
Grabiec was asked about Saturday's meeting and said that there would be “a lot of specific things when it comes to budget provisions.” He announced that they would include, among others: funds for sports facilities, libraries, schools and “measures for the reconstruction of individual houses, municipal and social housing.” However, he noted that he could not yet say specific amounts.
Grabiec about Saturday's government meeting
The head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister added that “special reserves will also be created for tasks unforeseen at the moment, which are not estimated, so that this financing will not be a problem.” He emphasized that the only problem is the operational capabilities of the people who have to estimate the damage.
– This is a question of the safety of these new, rebuilt projects. They must meet higher standards, including flood protection standards, than what existed before. This was the goal set by the Prime Minister. Each minister is working to find billions not only in this year's budget for what we need to do now, but also next year, so that these activities include new ventures, Grabiec said.
Tusk about the government meeting
Prime minister Donald Tusk announced that the government will meet on Saturday to adopt changes to next year's budget related to the flood situation. As he indicated, the additional meeting is to take place in the “noon hours”.
– On Saturday, we will have a formal government meeting regarding changes to the budget for next year. On Saturday, I will also want to obtain further reports from you in the informal part – but in any case, we will meet in the afternoon – announced the Prime Minister on Tuesday, addressing the members of the government.
