The border guards and soldiers prevented four people who tried to cross the border in the Bug River in the late afternoon hours. Migrants were spotted at the Border Guard post in Janów Podlaski (Lubelskie).
The spokesman of the Bug River Border Guard Unit, Captain Dariusz Sienicki, said on Friday (November 19) that the day before “at the Border Guard post in Janów Podlaski, officers and soldiers prevented four emigrants from attempting to illegally cross the border from Belarus to Poland using a pontoon boat”.
He added that these people had been turned back to Belarus.
In November, there were already over 34,000 attempts to illegally cross the border

By mid-2022, a fence will be erected on the border
By the middle of next year, a steel fence will be erected on the border with Belarus, topped with barbed wire and enriched with electronic devices. The dam, 180 km long and 5.5 m high, will be built in Podlasie. Along the border, motion sensors as well as day and night cameras will be installed.
The Bug River is a natural dam in the Lublin region.
