A 54-year-old man was hospitalized in a serious condition, who was crushed by a farm tractor on Saturday morning in Janikowo near Ożarów (Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship). The accident happened when the man was loading fertilizer into the spreader on the other tractor. Neighbors were the first to help.
The accident at work on one of the properties in Świętokrzyskie Janikowo near Ożarów (Opatow poviat) took place on Saturday morning. After 9 o’clock, the services received information about a man who was crushed by a farm tractor. His neighbors were the first to help the injured 54-year-old.

As senior captain Sebastian Saramański, spokesman for the Opatów fire brigade, told us, the neighbors of the victim, who noticed the incident, drove away in a tractor, freeing him. However, the man was probably imprisoned for a long time. Before anyone noticed that the accident had happened, the victim was already unconscious, Saramański noted.

– Residents gave the 54-year-old man first aid and brought him back to breath. The man received severe injuries in the chest area and was transported by helicopter to the hospital – junior aspirant Katarzyna Czesna-Wójcik, press officer of the Opatów police informed us.

Before the arrival of the medical rescue team, qualified first aid was provided by firefighters.
As determined by the police, the 54-year-old was working in his yard using agricultural tractors, loading fertilizer to a spreader attached to one of them. At some point, one of the vehicles rolled down and pinned the man to the device.
