Lower Silesian policemen detained a man suspected of stealing his friend’s car. We managed to track him down, among other things, thanks to the recordings from surveillance cameras. In addition to the moment of the theft, you can see one more interesting detail in the films. The 27-year-old disguised himself as a woman to hide his identity.
The car was stolen from a private property on the night of August 21-22 in the Janowice Wielkie commune. The thief got inside the vehicle with the original key, then drove the car away as if it were his own vehicle. When the owner realized that his Audi was gone, he notified the police. He estimated the value of the car at several thousand zlotys.
– On the basis of the collected information, as well as the analysis of recordings from surveillance cameras, the officers quickly identified a 27-year-old resident of the Karkonosze poviat who was supposed to be related to this theft – informs Przemysław Ratajczyk from the press office of the Lower Silesian Police.
Wig, skirt and painted nails
This case, however, stands out from other thefts of this type as a ruse used by the thief. In order not to be recognized, the man put on a black, long wig, a short skirt, and steps as if he were also wearing high heels. In addition, according to the police, he painted his nails.
– The disguise did not help much, because the 27-year-old was detained by policemen in Jawor, while he was sitting in a stolen car, in which the policemen also found his disguise – says Ratajczyk.
The man will be held accountable in court. He is facing a sentence of up to five years in prison.
