The night before yesterday, a large collection of logins and passwords of Polish citizens appeared on the Internet, the Minister of Digitization Janusz Cieszyński announced on social media. The head of the MC encourages you to check whether our data is safe on the government website.
Minister of Digitization Janusz Cieszyński posted on Twitter on Wednesday. “The night before yesterday, a large collection of logins and passwords of Polish citizens appeared on the network,” Cieszyński wrote. “We have launched a simple tool to check if your data was included in this leak. I invite you to use safedata.gov.pl– added the minister.
The industry portal trustednatrzeciastrona.pl reported on Monday that several million logins and passwords from Poland had leaked into the network. “We are probably dealing with one of the largest one-off leaks in the history of the Polish Internet. Millions of logins and passwords related to Polish online services and accounts of Polish women and men around the world have been leaked to the network,” we read.
The database was published on Monday in a Polish-language forum on the Tor network. The shared file contained “mainly data on websites run in the .pl domain and login data containing email addresses in the .pl domain” – reported the industry portal.
In the opinion of trustedthird party.pl, malware is the source of data.
