We treat defense secrecy as sacred, the case will be thoroughly explained, I think it is a matter of days, maybe weeks at most – this is what Adam Bodnar, Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General, said about the allegations of Janusz Palikot's defense lawyers against the prosecutor's office in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24. The former politician's defenders claim that the investigators violated attorney-client privilege.
On Saturday afternoon, the WrocÅ‚aw court decided on a two-month conditional arrest for Janusz Palikot suspected of fraud and misappropriation of property. The prosecutor's office brought eight charges against him. – The court awarded a surety in the amount of one million zlotys – said attorney Jacek Dubois. The prosecutor's office filed an objection to the court's decision regarding the possibility of leaving detention on bail.

Attorney Dubois claims that the prosecutor's office violated attorney-client privilege. On Sunday, the prosecutor's office announced that explanation of this matter will be handled by the Internal Affairs Department of the National Prosecutor's Office.
“I have sent a letter to the Prosecutor General, Mr. Adam Bodnar, in which I am asking for an urgent explanation of the situation related to the breach of defense and attorney-client privilege,” said PrzemysÅ‚aw Rosati, president of the Supreme Bar Council on the X platform.
Bodnar: the matter will be comprehensively explained
He spoke more about the case on Sunday in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24 Adam BodnarMinister of Justice and Attorney General. He was asked whether he had already received a letter from the president of the NRA.
– I read, I read, I know about this letter and, of course, over the weekend I talked with the national prosecutor, Dariusz Korneluk, about the further proceedings of the prosecutor's office in this case – he said.
When asked whether he believed that there had been a breach of defense confidentiality, he replied: – I think that the Prosecutor General should not comment or go into details regarding this or that investigation, this or that proceeding.
– However, I can say two things. Firstly, we treat (…) defense secrecy as sacred and it is obvious that it should be guarded in all proceedings. Secondly, the case will be thoroughly investigated by the Department of Internal Affairs in the National Prosecutor's Office, said the Minister of Justice.
– I am making a declaration that the matter will be comprehensively clarified, I think it is a matter of days, maybe weeks at most – assured Bodnar.
