On Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on the situation in Japan and appealed to Polish tourists. “Following a magnitude 7.1 earthquake that struck Kyushu Island on Thursday, August 8, 2024, the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) has issued a warning of an increased probability of a strong earthquake occurring along the Nankai Fault,” it said.

“In connection with the warning, the Polish Embassy in Tokyo please exercise particular caution and follow the recommendations of law enforcement. At the same time, we would like to point out that the information published by JMA does not mean that the above-mentioned earthquake will occur, but only indicates an increased risk of shock,” it appealed.
