“I’m going back to politics. I feel stronger than ever.”
– It was me who opposed Jarosław Kaczyński on the so-called envelope elections, then lex TVN and media freedom, up to the Polish Deal. I paid a high price for it, maybe too high. But, more importantly, the price was also paid by my MPs and associates who, in the name of revenge, became the target of dirty PiS attacks. I do not want it to be in vain – says Jarosław Gowin, the president of the Agreement, in an interview with TVN reporter Arleta Zalewska.

Arleta Zalewska, How are you today?
Jaroslaw Gowin: It’s very good today.
I mean, after two months, one of which I spent in the hospital and the other I was back in full shape.
I was depressed as a result of months of insomnia. In turn, lack of sleep was a side effect of COVID-19. This was combined with overwork and a brutal attack by PiS.
I overcame the disease. I come back to politics. I feel stronger than ever.
It sounds a bit like a learned rule.
But it is so. Doctors are surprised by the pace of my recovery. They themselves said that I should get back to work.
After two months, are you sure you will win? Aren’t you afraid it’s too fast? Treatment of depression usually takes longer.
The course of the disease is individual. In any case, you have to be patient and, above all, trust the doctors. And never give up.
This disease needs to be disenchanted, especially as it is becoming an increasingly common side effect of COVID-19. I would like people who struggle with similar problems alone to see that it affects others as well. The NFZ data shows that even several million Poles. It also touched me, a politician, a former deputy prime minister. But this disease can be successfully fought.
The last time Jarosław Gowin appeared in public on November 16 in the Sejm. A moment later it became clear that this was not a vacation. The Covenant leader who usually answered the calls, or at least replied to SMS, fell silent. He was then too important a politician for this “disappearance” to go unnoticed and not commented on. This is probably why his associates published this statement on November 24:
The statement did not yet explicitly name what Jarosław Gowin himself calls in the first interview since his disappearance from public life.
Who is Jarosław Gowin today?
… you still feel like him?
Of course. I was taken to the hospital halfway. Now I’m back. It was me who opposed Jarosław Kaczyński on the so-called envelope elections, then lex TVN and media freedom, up to the Polish Deal. I paid a high price for it, maybe too high. But, more importantly, the price was also paid by my MPs and associates who, in the name of revenge, became the target of dirty PiS attacks. I don’t want this to be wasted.
