On Tuesday, during a debate in the Sejm, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki informed that Jarosław Kaczyński, the deputy prime minister and head of the security committee, was unable to attend the meeting and provide information due to illness. On Wednesday morning, however, the PiS president participated in the celebration of the Smolensk monthly at Piłsudski Square in Warsaw. In the evening, he is to take part in the social celebrations related to the Independence Day, where his speech is planned.
In connection with the crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border on Tuesday afternoon took place extraordinary sitting of the Seym in this case. The deputy prime minister and head of the security committee, Jarosław Kaczyński, were not present.
After the debate began, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki commented on this fact. – At the beginning I would like to apologize on behalf of President Jarosław Kaczyński for his absence – the Prime Minister began his speech. – He got sick. The disease does not choose – he explained.
– Let me start with the fact that the activities carried out by him (Jarosław Kaczyński – ed.) Within the framework of the security committee, started very early, led to decisions that today result in much greater effectiveness of our activities on the border. Thank you very much, Mr. President – said Morawiecki. There was applause in the PiS benches.
Kaczyński’s activities on the Smolensk monthly and celebrations on the eve of Independence Day
On Wednesday morning, i.e. a dozen or so hours later, the PiS president already participated in the celebration of the Smolensk monthly at Piłsudski Square in Warsaw, where he laid flowers in front of the monument to his brother Lech Kaczyński and in front of the monument to the Victims of the Smolensk Tragedy in 2010.
Among the participants of the ceremony were also the most important politicians of Law and Justice and the ruling camp, including Prime Minister Morawiecki, Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Gliński, head of the Ministry of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak and PiS MP Antoni Macierewicz.
Jarosław Kaczyński is also to take part in social celebrations on the eve of Independence Day. At 7 p.m., the PiS president will take part in the mass at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, and at On the 21st it was planned to lay flowers in front of the Józef Piłsudski monument on the 103rd anniversary of the marshal’s arrival to Warsaw.
On pl. Piłsudski will also have a speech by Kaczyński.
