– I am submitting a motion to adjourn the meeting until September 1. The reason is simple: these are two sentences spoken in public today: “Each of my Members has received a very attractive trade offer. This is obvious political corruption.” These words were spoken by a man who was the minister of this government 24 hours ago, “said Sienkiewicz.” Madam Speaker, there is political corruption on a large scale, here the Republic of Poland is traded, here offices and money are traded. It is the Marshal’s duty to explain this to the bottom of the matter, addressed the Marshal of the Sejm, Elżbieta Witek.

In this way, he referred to the Wednesday words of the leader of the Covenant, Jarosław Gowin, who yesterday lost the post of minister in the government of Mateusz Morawiecki, and today his party announced its withdrawal from the ruling coalition.

Agreement outside the United Right and allegations of political corruption

Jaroslaw Gowin was dismissed on Tuesday from the position of deputy prime minister and minister of development, labor and technology. The Covenant reaction came on Wednesday morning. The party’s vice-officer, Jan Strzeżek, announced that this is the end of the Agreement’s presence in the government coalition. During the day, deputy ministers Marcin Ociepa, Iwona Michałek, Wojciech Murdzek and Grzegorz Piechowiak resigned successively. Anna Kornecka (Agreement), who was dismissed from the position of deputy minister in the Gowin ministry last week, also admitted on TVN24 on Wednesday morning that “We have not seen such political poaching on the political scene for a very long time“.

Gowin: ministerial positions are also offered, whether to keep them or get themTVN24

On Wednesday, Jarosław Gowin said on the RMF FM radiothat each Covenant MEP has received “today and in previous days very politically attractive trade offers”. – A moment ago I talked to one of the deputies who told me that from the circle of Prime Minister (Mateusz) Morawiecki he had received such an offer that in return for staying in the PiS club, he would be able to decide which local governments in his voivodeship would receive funds from the governmental Local Initiatives Fund – he described. – This is obviously a political corruption. Ministerial positions are also offered, their preservation or obtaining – said Gowin.

It was reported in the media that Marcin Ociepa, the current deputy defense minister, is a candidate for the minister of development, labor and technology. The person concerned himself denied this information.
