The commission for investigating Russian and Belarusian influence will, in some way, be an extension of the activities of these services that have been operating for years – said the head of the parliamentary commission for secret services, Marek Biernacki from PSL-Trzecia Droga, in “Rozmowa Piaseckiego”. He complimented its chairman, General Jarosław Stróżyk, who has great authority “on the European market of secret services.”

Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on Tuesday that it had issued an order in the case establishing a commission to investigate Russian and Belarusian influence on internal security and interests of the Republic of Poland in the years 2004-2024. He also said that the chairman of the commission will be General Jarosław Stróżyk and that the first report on its work is expected after elections to the European Parliament.

– This commission must deal with materials collected in the services and not only in the services that operate in public circulation, regarding, let's call it, Russian and Belarusian influence on Polish public life. I don't want to limit it only to the sphere of politicians, he said.

As he emphasized, “the commission will in some way be an extension of the activities of those services that have been operating for years.” – It was headed by a very experienced officer, General Jarosław Stróżyk. An officer who is highly valued not only in Poland, but in general on, let's call it, the European secret services market. As he moves around the world now, you can see what authority he enjoys, he said.

– I know him personally, so I know that he is a very balanced person. I'm more of a pistolero, and he's more of a balanced, calm person. He will certainly not take shortcuts, he will verify the information they have, Biernacki emphasized.

Biernacki: I received at least six cases from whistleblowers

– What is very important, and I think I can say this, is that during the audits at the Military Counterintelligence Service, a number of issues came to light that were not actually followed up – Biernacki pointed out.

– Some of the cases that concerned the relationship with… Russia, but there were also many cases regarding relations with other countries and criminal relations that were covered up. I received at least six cases from whistleblowers, which I forwarded to the Internal Security Agency, where the Internal Security Agency operated effectively, but at some point the case was taken away from them and transferred to another service, and then drowned – he added. He emphasized that they concerned the “broadly understood PiS camp”.
