The search for the missing Monika Wilgorska-Stanewicz from Jaworznik (Śląskie Voivodeship) has been going on since July 9. So far, it has not been possible to establish what happened to the woman. But the police had just arrested her cohabitant, but for a completely different matter. The businessman is suspected of large-scale drug trafficking. Investigators are checking whether the two cases have something more in common than Mariusz P.
The District Prosecutor’s Office in Częstochowa detained a businessman, Mariusz P., and a policeman from Zawiercie (Śląskie Voivodeship). Both men heard allegations of drug trafficking. – These allegations concern the transport of narcotic drugs in the form of 100 kilograms of marijuana from France at the turn of 2014 and 2015 and the introduction of these drugs into Wrocław and Kraków – said Tomasz Ozimek, spokesman for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Częstochowa.
Both men will be in custody for the next three months.
No trace of her was lost
It just so happens that the same Mariusz P. is a cohabitant Monika Waligorska-Stanewicz. The 42-year-old woman left the house on July 9, got into her car and never contacted any of her relatives again. Her car was found five days later in a pond in Zawiercie. The open tailgate protruded above the waterline. “Our actions consisted in securing the scene, pulling the car out with a winch, searching the vehicle to find the injured. Then a specialized water-dive group that arrived at the scene checked the bottom with sonar. Also excluding any injured persons” – informed the fire brigade.
After the 42-year-old’s vehicle was found, the prosecution opened an investigation into manslaughter. – The car had traces of removal of identification markings – explained in July Krzysztof Budzik from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Częstochowa. – At the moment we are not able to say what happened to this woman. Whether he is alive or not. An investigation was initiated with this pre-qualification to check all the circumstances.
-Just after the disappearance of the 42-year-old, the police detained Mariusz P. for 48 hours, but they could not find any evidence that the man could have had anything to do with the disappearance of the concubine. It is only known that he was to see her as the last one – reports TVN24 reporter Jerzy Korczyński, who deals with this case.
Investigators take into account various hypotheses. – Simultaneously with the activities in the drug case, activities related to the disappearance of Monika were carried out on the premises of Mariusz P., which is also being investigated by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Częstochowa – says Tomasz Ozimek, spokesman for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Częstochowa.
The property was checked, inter alia, with the use of GPRs. As the TVN24 reporter learned, policemen from CBŚP and the provincial headquarters in Katowice are also involved in the clarification of the case.
