Police officers from Jaworzno (Silesian Voivodeship) detained a man who is suspected of stealing a car with a drunk passenger inside, and after a few days he sold the vehicle to a friend. The recovered vehicle has already been returned to its owner. The 37-year-old is facing up to five years in prison for the theft.
The incident took place last week at Jagiellońska Street in Jaworzno. Police received a report of the theft of a Fiat Punto. The vehicle was stolen in front of one of the stores.

The passenger did not know what was happening
According to the police, the car was stolen because it was open and there were keys in the ignition. This was used by a 37-year-old man. – The 37-year-old noticed an intoxicated man in the back seat. The passenger upon awakening was surprised and confused by what was happening. He incomprehensibly asked the perpetrator to blow him up. The perpetrator agreed to this request and then drove away – reports Staff Sergeant Justyna Wiszowaty from the police in Jaworzno.
The man was arrested by the police a few days later. Monitoring helped in his capture.
– The police detained a 37-year-old resident of Jaworzno. As it turned out, as the vehicle documents were also in the vehicle, the man had managed to sell the stolen vehicle to a friend in the meantime. The recovered car with the keys was handed over to the owner – says the press officer of the police in Jaworzno. The 37-year-old was taken into police custody and charged with theft. He faces up to five years in prison. The court will decide his fate.
