The heads of diplomacy of Germany and France issued a joint statement on compliance with European Union law on Friday evening. They pay particular attention to Poland.
In a statement, French and German foreign ministers Jean-Yves Le Drian and Heiko Maas wrote that “belonging to the European Union obliges legally and morally to adhere to common values and principles”. “Compliance with European Union law must be unconditional. This applies to all Member States, including Poland” – they emphasized, adding that “it is not only a moral obligation, it is also a legal obligation” ..
