Jelenia Gora. The beginning of the security guard’s trial after the fatal beating of a 32-year-old in front of a club in Lubań

The trial of a 40-year-old security guard has begun in Jelenia Góra, who is accused of beating a 32-year-old man to death. The tragedy happened in Lubań (Lower Silesian Voivodeship) in October 2021. The accused Przemysław J. pleaded not guilty in court and refused to give explanations.

The events described in the indictment took place in October 2021 in front of one of the music clubs in Lubań (Dolnośląskie Voivodeship). According to the prosecutor’s office, Przemysław J., who was a security guard at the club, acting with direct intent, gave the 32-year-old man at least two strong blows to the head with his fist. After the blows, the 32-year-old fell over and lost consciousness. He died in hospital as a result of his injuries. Przemysław J. was accused of beating to death.

On Tuesday, the man pleaded not guilty to the charge and declined to comment. He is facing a sentence ranging from five years to life in prison.

Blows in front of the club

The prosecutor’s office determined that the fatal blows fell on October 17, 2021 around 3 a.m. The accused was to attack a 32-year-old who was waiting with his friends in front of the premises on Spółdzielcza Street for transport home.

– A car came to pick them up from there. There was some difficulty in getting all the men into that car. Then a security guard approached this group – said Tomasz Czułowski, spokesman for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra, shortly after the incident.

The deceased man was a resident of Lubań, he orphaned two children.
