NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg does not intend to extend his term, which ends in October, said Oana Lungescu, a spokeswoman for the North Atlantic Alliance. “Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg’s mandate has been extended three times, and he has held this position for a total of almost nine years,” Oana Lungescu, a spokeswoman for the North Atlantic Alliance, told reporters on Sunday. The spokeswoman added that his term expires in October and “he has no intention of seeking another extension of his mandate”.

Who can replace Stoltenberg?
