Jacek T., a 60-year-old educator from the District Educational Center in Jerzmanice-Zdrój, was released from custody. The man is suspected of beating up a 13-year-old student of this facility. The boy was taken to hospital in serious condition.
On November 21 last year, a 13-year-old patient of the center in Jerzmanice-Zdrój was admitted to the Provincial Specialist Hospital in Legnica in a serious condition. Earlier – according to the findings of the Ministry of Justice – he was beaten by one of his teachers.

The teenager was in pharmacological sleep. The boy woke up in mid-December and now faces a long rehabilitation.
The teacher suspected of beating the boy, 60-year-old Jacek T., was temporarily arrested for two months. The prosecutor charged him with abusing a minor, which allegedly led the teenager to attempt suicide. This is punishable by two to 15 years in prison.

Educator released from custody
On Tuesday, the spokeswoman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Legnica, Prosecutor Liliana Łukasiewicz, announced that T. had been released from custody and the prosecutor had applied preventive measures against him, including: police supervision and ban on practicing as an educator.
The prosecutor also informed that the center's pupils and other educators had already been interviewed as part of the investigation. “Monitoring was also secured and is being analyzed,” said prosecutor Łukasiewicz.
Jacek T. did not plead guilty to the charges during the investigation. The 60-year-old was a long-time employee and educator at the facility. He is also the director of a school and kindergarten in the Jeżów Sudecki commune.
Another case in the same center
At the end of November, the prosecutor's office also brought charges against another educator from the center in Jerzmanice-Zdrój, Mirosław W. The educator was detained following the findings of an inspector from the Ministry of Justice. The man was charged with causing minor bodily injuries to one of the center's pupils. W. was removed from work at the facility.
