Professor Jerzy Buzek became the first laureate of the International King Eric of Pomerania Award. – It is an honor and an honor – said the professor during the award ceremony in Darłowo. The laudation in honor of the laureate was given by actress Krystyna Janda.
Former Prime Minister and former President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek was the first in history to be awarded the International Award of King Eric of Pomerania for his achievements in building the European community. The ceremony took place at the Pomeranian Dukes’ Castle in Darłowo.
The laureate, as the Prime Minister, introduced Poland in 1999 to FOR THISwhich rooted the Republic of Poland in the security structures of the West and strengthened Europe’s defense potential.
Buzek: we can build the future on community
– Prime Minister, thank you for everything you do for Poland and Europe – said actress Krystyna Janda during the King Eric Award gala.
– We must and can build the future not only on appropriate material means – emphasized Jerzy Buzek after receiving the award. – The cultural ones mean much more, but also on trust and a sense of community in various dimensions: local, regional, national and European, i.e. those experiences whose historical and cultural source was Solidarity – he explained.
