John Lennon honored by Paul McCartney, Yoko Ono on 81st birthday

Paul McCartney and Yoko Ono honored John Lennon on Lennon’s birthday in social media posts Saturday.

Lennon would have been 81. The Beatles star was shot to demise on the age of 40.

McCartney shared a throwback picture of Lennon and him enjoying the guitar within the model of a violin.

“Joyful Birthday ideas for John – Paul,” he captioned the photo.

Ono shared a throwback picture of Lennon and his son Sean, 46. Father and son shared a birthday.

“Joyful Birthday John! Joyful Birthday Sean! I like you! yoko,” she wrote.

Dec. 8, 2020 marked 40 years since Lennon’s demise. McCartney paid tribute to his former bandmate on Twitter on the time. 

“A tragic, unhappy day, however remembering my good friend John with the nice pleasure he dropped at the world,” McCartney captioned the post. “I’ll at all times be proud and blissful to have recognized and labored with this unimaginable Scouser! X love, Paul.”

Ringo Starr additionally paid tribute to the musician.

“Tuesday, 8 December 1980 all of us needed to say goodbye to John. Peace and love John,” the drummer wrote in his personal tribute.

“I am asking Each music radio station on the earth [to] someday at the moment play ‘Strawberry Fields Without end.’ Peace and love,” Starr added.
