Police officers from the police station in Józefów detained two suspects of beating a 16-year-old. According to the officers, the attackers threatened the victim that they would “cut off his head with a cleaver”. They both heard the accusations.
The incident took place on September 8 in Józefów near Warsaw. The emergency number 112 received a beating report. – As the police initially found out, two men who were walking down the street attacked a 16-year-old who met his friends on one of the streets in Józefów for no reason. In addition, while holding a cleaver in their hand, they threatened the minor to cut off his head with it, said Paulina Harabin, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Otwock.
Charges and arrest for suspects
The attacked boy suggested to the attackers that he would give them back the phone and money, but nevertheless he was severely beaten by them. The perpetrators fled the arrival of the police and an ambulance. The beaten 16-year-old with injuries was taken to hospital, and the prevention officers, after the collected information, initially selected people who could be related to the event. – On the basis of their own findings and as a result of large-scale actions, the police detained the first 25-year-old suspected of participating in a beating the very next day. The intensively performed activities also led to the arrest of the 39-year-old, the second suspect in the case, at the place of residence, Harabin said.
They were both brought to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Otwock, where they heard charges of beating a 16-year-old, criminal threats and theft of a steel cleaver worth 600 zlotys.
At the request of the prosecutor, the court applied a preventive measure in the form of pre-trial detention against the detained.
