This is a decision that actually removes the funds from the National Reconstruction Plan – said Krzysztof Kwiatkowski in “One for One”. The senator commented on the president’s decision to refer the law on courts to the Constitutional Tribunal.

President Andrzej Duda sent the law on the Supreme Court and other courts to the Constitutional Tribunal. According to the government, it meets the requirements of the European Commission to unlock billions from the National Reconstruction Plan for Poland. The fate of the act in the Tribunal is uncertain, as there is an ongoing conflict over the term of office of president Julia Przyłębska.

From a former MP PIScurrently a judge of the Constitutional Tribunal Krystyna Pawłowicz The letter shows that six out of fifteen judges “in connection with the expiry of the six-year term of office of the President of the Constitutional Tribunal” demand Przyłębska, among other things, to present candidates for this position.

Agata Adamek’s guest in the Tuesday edition of “One for One” on TVN24 was an independent senator and head of the Senate’s legislative committee, former president of the Supreme Audit Office Krzysztof Kwiatkowski. He was asked, among other things, about this decision of the president Andrzej Duda.

The senator assessed that “after the president’s decision, they are moving even further away.” – In the case of a referral to the Constitutional Tribunal, which today is plagued by such internal contradictions, I am unable to answer the question whether it will deal with this case at all. I can only analyze whether the odds are higher or lower. It looks completely frivolous – said Kwiatkowski.

When asked how he understood the president’s decision, the TVN24 guest replied that “politically it is a disastrous move in its consequences.” – Why? If there is a group of judges that contests Julia Przyłębska’s mandate to manage the work of the Tribunal, then if they say that she is not the president of the Tribunal, they will even more say that she has no right to convene a session at which this case would be settled – he pointed out attention.

According to Senator Kwiatkowski, President Duda “set himself against all citizens, because it is in the interest of all of us that this money [z KPO – przyp. red.] “It’s a decision that actually pushes it away,” he assessed.

To the suggestion that the president took the cost of the decision he made, Kwiatkowski replied: – It depends on how he defined profits and costs. In the context of citizens, we know that these were only losses. In the political context, perhaps he wanted to emphasize in the Law and Justice camp that he was autonomous, independent, predicted the senator.

– Added to this is the narrative that we could hear in the message that he feels he is the guardian of the constitution, but that the guardian of the constitution does not mean only being the guardian of his own competences – he noted.
