A dangerous accident on S5 near the village of Kaczkowo (Greater Poland Voivodeship). Suddenly a fox appeared in front of the hood of a car in which three people were driving. The driver tried to avoid the animal. Then he lost control of the vehicle. A woman and her four-year-old son were hospitalized.
Around 1.50 hours, the services received a notification of an accident on the S5 road near the village of Kaczkowo (Wielkopolskie Province). – According to preliminary findings, a fox appeared on the road in front of the Renault. The 37-year-old driver did not want to hit him, so he made an avoidance maneuver. He lost control of the vehicle and first drove to the right shoulder and then to the left, where he hit an energy-consuming barrier – said Monika Żymełka, spokeswoman for the County Police Headquarters in Leszno.

The policemen and the fire brigade appeared on the spot. – First, the scene of the incident was secured. The battery on the vehicle was then disconnected. The firefighters also turned off the gas valve in the installation in the car. And they took care of first aid to three injured people who traveled in this car – reported Szymon Kurpisz, spokesman for the Leszno fire brigade.
– It is known that the car was driven by a 37-year-old man, and in addition to him, there was a 41-year-old woman and her 4-year-old son in the vehicle. The woman and the child were taken to hospital. At the moment, we do not have detailed information about their health. The event will be classified as an accident – adds Zymełka.
There are no obstacles at the scene of the accident on the S5 route.
