If Russia does not bear any consequences of its aggression, we will find ourselves in a situation where we will actually return to the world in which the strength decides – says the head of EU diplomacy Kaja Kallas in the podcast “Summit Europe”. She added that she would not call Vladimir Putin, because “he just lies” and “does not follow any agreements.”

Kaja Kallas in an interview with Maciej Sokołowski, correspondent of TVN24 and TVN24 BIS in Brussels and Beata Płomecka, a correspondent of Polish Radio, appealed to not to endure sanctions imposed on Russia and criticized The negotiations that the Americans lead.

– If Russia gets everything it demands, exactly everything, I do not think that these are good negotiations for the other side, because it is given everything that Russia wants – lack of membership in NATO, a discussion on European safety architecture, demanding resignation by Ukraine from some of the territories – he says.

– So my question is: what does the other side really gain in this kind of negotiations? I think that we must remember all this and not fall into Russian ambushes – she added.

At the same time, Kallas admitted that today she would not call the Russian president Vladimir Putin. “I wouldn't call him because I know that he is just lying and does not follow any agreements.” I don't know what result it would have. But it may have to be that other countries must come to such a conclusion themselves. In one of the interviews, the former Russian prime minister said Putin would always betray you. The widow of Alexei Navalny says the same – she reminded.

– Putin does not keep his agreements. He wants you to get involved in negotiations because he knows that you will keep all the obligations, point by point, while he does not intend to follow anything – Kallas pointed out.

“It will be difficult for me to stay with him in the same room”

Although Kaja Kallas admitted that she was flying to the G20 summit, where the head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov will also participate, he does not intend to talk to him. – It will be difficult for me to stay with him in the same room, but Russia is in G20. However, we will raise all issues regarding Ukraine regarding European security. We will also tell you what the rate is for the whole world – she said.

– If Russia does not bear any consequences of its aggression, we will find ourselves in a situation where we will actually return to the world in which strength decides. And all those who have more strength can take what they demand, because the rules we have agreed to the UN will not apply anymore. And in my opinion it is very dangerous for all countries around the world – added the head of EU diplomacy.

Kaja Kallas about her “greatest fear”

Kallas said that her “greatest fear” is that whenever in history the great countries got along above the heads of smaller ones, the smaller ones usually paid a very high price for such agreements. – But at the same time I think that any agreement or agreement works, needs Europeans and needs Ukraine. I don't think it was a question to Poland or the Baltic States. This is the question whether we can all keep unity together with our Western allies – she said.

– Because of course we understand that in our societies, everywhere, the will to return to normality and permission for this war to be forgotten, is common. But we also understand that every bad contract will simply bring more wars – added Kaja Kallas.
