Despite the resuscitation efforts, a man hit by a car in Kaliska Kościersskie (Pomeranian Voivodeship) could not be saved. The injured person died in hospital. He was a well-known doctor and social activist in the region, as well as a promoter of winter swimming.
On Sunday evening (October 22), a tragic accident occurred on the 264th kilometer of national road No. 20 in Kaliska Kościerskie. A man was hit by a car at a pedestrian crossing.
Police press officer in Kościerzyna, Asp. pcs. Piotr Kwidzński specified that it happened before 19, near the intersection with local roads to Dobrogoszcz and Nowa Wieś Kościerska.

The seriously injured man was taken to hospital. A few hours later, the police delivered tragic news about the victim’s death.
The deceased was a well-known urologist in the region, as well as a social activist, including: founder of the Kościerzyna walrus club.
Condolences were expressed to the family by, among others, Alicja Żurawska, starosta of Kościerzyna… “Incredibly shocking news (…). It is extremely hard to believe… He was not only a good and dedicated doctor, but also an excellent athlete and a wonderful man. His contribution to the community will always be remembered and constantly remembered. My heartfelt words of support and deep sympathy for the family at this difficult moment,” she wrote
A breathalyzer test showed that the car driver was sober. Despite this, the police took his blood for detailed tests. The circumstances of the accident are being investigated under the supervision of the prosecutor.
