Police officers from one of the apartments in Kalisz (Greater Poland Voivodeship) took an infant who was under the care of his drunk father. A 31-year-old man had one and a half per mille of alcohol in his body. The family court was notified about the case.
The incident took place on Saturday (February 10) around 7 p.m. in one of the apartments at Ostrowska Street in Kalisz. The police were informed that a child was under the care of a drunk father.
The police officers who arrived at the given address called the fire brigade for help because no one responded to their calls to open the apartment door.
My father had one and a half per mille of alcohol
– At the request of the police, they were forced to open them – said junior Mariusz Wejman, the officer on duty of the Kalisz fire brigade.
– After entering, the officers found a nine-month-old child and his 31-year-old father. The man was under the influence of alcohol. The test showed he had one and a half permille in his body, said aspirant Edyta Marciniaka from the Kalisz police press office.
The family court was notified about the case
On Saturday, the police notified the family court about the case, which decided to transfer the child to the care of family members.
– The man was detained. For now, we do not know where the child’s mother was at that time. Documents are being prepared in this case and will be submitted to the family court, the policewoman said.
