“I'll meet with her on September 4th or I won't meet with her at all,” former President Donald Trump said on the Truth Social platform, responding to information from current Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign that she will seek to host a debate on September 10th on ABC.
“I will meet with her on September 4th or I will not meet with her at all,” the Republican candidate for November's presidential election wrote. On Friday evening, Trump announced that he had agreed with Fox News to debate potential Democratic candidate Kamala Harris on September 4th. The network is conservative, traditionally favoring Republicans. “If for any reason Kamala is unwilling or unable to debate that day, I have agreed with Fox to host a broad discussion in a Town Hall format on September 4th,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“Donald Trump got scared”
Harris' campaign is talking about September 10 on ABC. It is recalled that earlier Trump and Joe Biden – even before the president dropped out of the reelection race – agreed that their second debate would take place that day on that television. Kamala Harris' campaign communications director Michael Tyler said: “Donald Trump got spooked and is trying to get out of the debate he already agreed to and running to Fox News to get him out of trouble.” This, notes the Associated Press, makes a debate between the candidates before the November 5 election seem less likely.
