The police detained a drunk driver. According to their findings, he caused a collision and then fled the scene. When he was arrested, he had over three per mille of alcohol in his body.

Police officers from the Otwock traffic police received a report about a collision that occurred in Karczew on Częstochowska Street.

– The witness said that the perpetrator was walking away along CzÄ™stochowska Street. The police caught up with the Peugeot driver and gave signals to stop the vehicle – he described the course of the intervention of the police officer. Patryk Domarecki from the District Police Headquarters in Otwock.

The 38-year-old driver stopped and got out of the vehicle.

SEE: In the evening she drank three beers and two drinks. In the morning, she was driving drunk to a job interview and fatally hit a motorcyclist.

“He blew 3.2 per mille”

– The man had problems with maintaining balance. The police tested him for alcohol content. The man “exhaled” 3.2 per mille, Domarecki reported.

The 38-year-old was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. The police also confiscated his driving license and car.

The man faces up to three years in prison. The proceedings are conducted under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Otwock.

Even a small dose of alcohol or drugs affects the driver's concentration, which increases the risk of an accident. Driving under the influence of alcohol leads to problems with motor coordination, slower reactions and even loss of contact with reality.
