Three women were hit by a passenger car driver in Kargowa (Lubusz Voivodeship). One of them died on the spot, the other died despite resuscitation. The third victim was transported to hospital, but unfortunately she could not be saved either. The police and prosecutor's office are investigating the circumstances of this tragedy.

In Kargowa (Lubusz Voivodeship), a car hit a group of people. The incident occurred on Saturday around 9.40 p.m. at ul. Sulechowska (DK32). Initial information shows that pedestrians were crossing in an unauthorized place. What do the police say about the preliminary findings?

– Most likely, three women were crossing national road number 32. On one of the lanes, they were hit by an oncoming Fiat Punto – the deputy inspector told TVN24. Małgorzata Stanisławska, spokeswoman for the Zielona Góra police.

According to the police, one of the hit women died on the spot, the other two were resuscitated. – Despite resuscitation, the second woman also died. The third one was taken to hospital, but we have already received information that she could not be saved, the spokeswoman said on Sunday morning.

The services and the prosecutor arrived at the scene. – The officers and the technician secured all traces. Due to the late hour and the number of injured, these actions lasted several hours – adds Stanisławska.

The driver was sober

It is known that the Fiat was driven by a 22-year-old man. A breathalyzer test confirmed that he was sober at the time of the incident. A blood sample was also taken from him for testing. The driver was arrested shortly after the incident. – It's normal procedure. Actions will probably be taken with this man today, adds Stanisławska.

It is known that a festival was held near the place of the incident.
