A group of 10 tourists is evacuated from the Łomniczki Valley area. According to Piotr Zamorski, head of the Mountain Volunteer Rescue Service in the Karkonosze Mountains, there is a real avalanche risk in this area.
On Saturday, at 11.50 a.m., the Mountain Volunteer Rescue Service in the Karkonosze Mountains received information from one of the tourists who had entered the area of Kocioł Łomniczki, and due to difficult weather conditions there was no way to turn back. Piotr Zamorski, head of the GOPR group, said that there were nine other people with him.
The tourists were in the area of a closed trail, where there is a real avalanche risk and limited visibility. Tourists are escorted to the Silesian House and from there they will be taken down. For now, there is no information about the condition of the evacuated people.
Avalanche number one
Avalanche danger level 1 applies in the Karkonosze Mountains. There is a very strong wind, gusting up to 90 kilometers per hour. There are 115 centimeters on Śnieżka. The trails are icy and very slippery.
