The Civic Coalition's team for settling the Law and Justice party is reporting on the possibility that Karol Nawrocki may have committed a crime, Roman Giertych said. This concerns Nawrocki's use of an apartment in the hotel complex of the Museum of the Second World War when he was the director of this institution. – I don't take it seriously at the moment – the PiS candidate commented on Giertych's announcement.

Museum apartment

On January 20, “Gazeta Wyborcza” revealed that Nawrocki had been the director of the Museum of the Second World War for over half a year. used the Deluxe apartment in the museum hotel complex, although he lives only five kilometers from it. He did not pay for his stay, this daily emphasized.

“Gazeta Wyborcza” estimated that “in total, Nawrocki booked 19 stays in 2018-20, and as many as 182 in 2020-21.” “A total of 201 days, including 197 in the apartment,” the daily added.

The “GW” article shows that Nawrocki, when he was director of the Museum of the Second World War, did not pay “a penny” for his hotel stay. “With the maximum discount (80%), the “employee” price for all reservations would amount to approximately PLN 25.6 thousand, and with a 40 percent discount – PLN 51.2 thousand. Nawrocki himself claims that as the director of the museum during the pandemic COVID-19 he spent a 10-day quarantine in the apartment twice, performing his duties remotely. He also argues that it is not true that he lived there for 200 days, the apartment was booked in his name for that many days. Moreover, he notes that this apartment was also used “for business meetings with guests from abroad and from Poland.”

Nawrocki on his “deep disappointment” with Giertych

– This man writes various tweets – Nawrocki commented on Giertych's announcement about submitting the notification. – I don't take him (Giertych) completely seriously today, which is my deep disappointment that such strange tweets can be written – Nawrocki said at Thursday's press conference.

Nawrocki also assured that if the prosecutor's office takes up the matter of accommodation, he will be ready to cooperate with it and provide all explanations.

– Of course I am ready to talk to the prosecutor's office – he said. – I am convinced that prosecutors will be very disappointed with an issue that is now a public issue – he said.
