Publicly, everyone says that this is a great decision, but unofficially it is still a matter of waiting, said Arleta Zalewska, a journalist of “Fakty” TVN, about the reaction of PiS politicians to Karol Nawrocki's candidacy for president. – “Nothing crazy, but something to shape” – this is one message from a famous politician. “It could have been better, but it could also have been worse” – this is the second text message – Zalewska was quoted in the “W Kuluarach” program.
On Sunday it was announced that candidate of Law and Justice in next year's presidential elections became the president of the Institute of National Remembrance Karol Nawrocki. PiS maintains that Nawrocki is a “civic” candidate, not a party one.
At the convention in Krakow, during which the PiS candidate was presented, Arleta Zalewska, a journalist from “Fakty” TVN, was present. In the “W Kuluarach” program, she revealed that the mood of the audience was different. Nawrocki's supporters “believe and trust Jarosław Kaczyński's decision, they believe that he will be the next Andrzej Duda”, but some Law and Justice politicians are skeptical about Kaczyński's choice.
– Of course, publicly everyone says that this is a great decision, the best candidate and he will win, but unofficially, from various gestures and reports, there is still waiting to see what this candidate will be like when he really has to face the election campaign, because today it was just a carefully prepared presentation – said the journalist.

“It could be better, but it could also be worse”
She also revealed the content of the messages she received from politicians about Nawrocki's speech and election. – Before our meeting, I sent many text messages to various politicians asking how they assessed what happened today in Krakow. “Nothing crazy, but something to shape” – this is one message from a famous politician. “It could be better, but it could also be worse” – this is the second text message. And the third one, referring to the card (from which Nawrocki was reading – editor): “It should not be an expose on a piece of paper, but an emotional and full of love, spirited speech with a microphone in hand,” Zalewska said.
The journalist assessed that “Karol Nawrocki will have difficult weeks ahead, because many PiS politicians were counting on him to be one of the PiS leaders.” – The party authorities chose differently, they chose a completely different strategy – added the journalist.

“This will sell well”
Radomir Wit compared Nawrocki's speech to a speech Andrzej Duda ten years ago. – I saw the announcement of Andrzej Duda's candidacy in online archives. Then his first speech took place. The stage layout was slightly different, it was more intimate. (…) Andrzej Duda's energy was completely different. However, it must be said that his political experience and some ability to speak, and not just read what was carefully written down, were visible – said the TVN24 journalist.
TVN24 journalist Konrad Piasecki pointed out that Nawrocki “has good historical roots.” – Today it was emphasized that he was a man of the people. Therefore, there is a story about a president who gets out of a housing estate in Tricity, gets an education, becomes president, head of the Museum of the Second World War, and then president of the Institute of National Remembrance. It will sell well, Piasecki said.

However, he added that some people believe that he is a “one-dimensional candidate who is associated only with history and nothing else.” – There are always concerns about what happened in Nawrocki's youth, because he was a man who boxed and had various contacts – noted Konrad Piasecki.
