Who is Kasjan Wyligała?

Kasjan Wyligała is 32 years old. According to the information on the website of the Bogdanka mine, he is a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw. He also completed Executive Master of Business Administration postgraduate studies at the Institute of Economic Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences and “Financial Management” at the Warsaw School of Economics.

He has many years of experience in corporate bodies of commercial companies, including public and foreign ones, gained while sitting on management boards and supervisory boards.

He has been associated with the mining industry since 2016. Then he started working at the Industrial Development Agency, first as an Advisor to the President of the Management Board, and then as the Director of the Strategic Analysis Office. He appeared in Bogdanka this year. From March 14, he was the deputy president of the management board for operations, from June 24 he was the vice president for strategy and development.

The media reported that Wyligała was being tried on as the president of the company from September, when Artur Wasil was dismissed from this position.

On December 12, Wyligała paid to PiS party PLN 27 thousand. On June 20, he went down the mine with Michał Moskal, a 28-year-old PiS politician, one of his closest associates Jarosław Kaczyński.

Moskal became the face of the re-deprivatization of the mine – a letter of intent was signed in the procedure. Since April last year, he often appears in the mine, participates in meetings of the board and trade unionists with the government.

On December 30, Moskal and Wyligała were to go down together again. This time on a private matter. According to anonymous information from miners, the politician then got engaged 960 meters underground. The mine and the Muscovite himself did not confirm this fact, but did not deny it either. The trade unions received assurance from the management board that the group arrived during the technological break in compliance with the safety procedures.

The previous president of Bogdanka was Artur Wasil. He is a man of the mine, after graduating from the Faculty of Mining at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow (he also completed postgraduate studies in European project management and European Union law at UMCS) he worked there from 2002, first as an intern, then as a mining department foreman. Enea’s Supervisory Board elected Wasil the president of Bogdanka in 2018, and dismissed it in September 2022. The official reason was not given. Miners and trade unionists protested against this decision.

Until today, Artur Wasilewski, who has been associated with Bogdanka for years, has held the position of president until today, since 2018 he has been deputy president of the management board for economic and financial matters.
