A woman fell from the chairlift to Kasprowy Wierch on Tuesday, informed the Tatra Volunteer Rescue Service. The condition of the injured person is serious. The probable cause of the accident was an epilepsy attack.
As reported on Tuesday by TOPR Tomasz Wojciechowski, the lifeguard on duty, the accident occurred on the chairlift from Hala Gąsienicowa to Kasprowy Wierch.
A TOPR helicopter was landing
According to information provided by Wojciechowski, the woman fell from the lift. Her condition is described as severe.
The rescuer added that the probable cause of the accident was an epilepsy attack. The TOPR helicopter has already arrived at the scene. – Rescue operations are underway. For now, it is too early to provide more detailed information – Wojciechowski told the journalist tvn24.pl in the morning.
Until now, the chairlift in the Kocioł Gąsienicowy was operated only in winter and transported skiers to the top. During the current vacation, the lift was also opened for the first time for tourists visiting the Tatras in the summer.
