There is no ban on homework. They cannot be evaluated. This is not the same – said Katarzyna Lubnauer in the “Piasecki conversation” of the deputy minister of education. She added that we have times at which every homework can be done with the help of a phone and artificial intelligence. She admitted that the ministry had committed “certain communication errors” in this matter.
From April 1 last year, regulations limiting homework in primary schools are in force. According to them, domestic work is not asked in grades I-III of primary schools, with the exception of exercises to improve small motor skills. In grades IV-VIII, homework is not compulsory, and instead of assessing, the student is to receive information about what he did well and what requires improvement.
“I am able to make up for every home work with my phone”
Referring to these changes in “Piasecki's conversation” on TVN24 on Thursday, the deputy minister of education Katarzyna Lubnauer said that there was no prohibition to do homework. – You cannot evaluate your homework. This is not the same – she clarified. – I will say very clearly. There is no point in assessing something that we do not know if he is a student's own work – said Deputy Minister.

She also stated that after a year after the introduction of changes in housework, the ministry intends to evaluate. – We will make this evaluation at the beginning of the next school year. However, we have already commissioned such action to the Educational Research Institute – she added.
– We have times when I am able to make up for every homework with my phone. Just take a picture. I don't even have to rewrite it to the phone, only artificial intelligence will do it based on a photo. Any chemical reaction, any physical task, any essay on the topic chosen by you. I am even able to write a poem – explained Lubnauer.
In her opinion, “if we prescribe something thoughtlessly, we will not learn anything.” – You need to build a different motivation for students – she added. She stated that agency and responsibility for her education should be an important issue for the graduate profile.
She admitted that the ministry had committed “some communication errors” because there is still talk of a ban on homework that is not there. – What we should tell teachers very clearly is that they can do homework. The point is that it would not be a grade at the end, but that the student would receive feedback. You did it well, you did it wrong, you still have to work on it. I will help you and show you how it should be done. Because the purpose of homework should not be that the student is afraid to make mistakes, but it should be that he will receive a response from the teacher, which he is not able to deal with. This is the goal of homework – summed up Lubnauer.
