The 46-year-old was arrested by the police because he was walking around the estate drunk. That's how he ended up in the sobering-up center. Two nights later he was in custody. As the Silesian police explained, it was because he robbed his mother in the hospital, insulted the nurse, threatened the family, and had weapons and ammunition at home without permission.
Police officers from Katowice were called to intervene with a drunk man in one of the housing estates in the Piotrowice district. “Due to severe alcohol intoxication and a life-threatening condition, the 46-year-old spent the night in a sobering-up room,” says the Silesian police.
There is a house and ammunition in the apartment
In the morning, instead of returning home, the man ended up in a police cell. The police found that before the reported intervention, the 46-year-old had threatened his former sister-in-law and her family.
After the arrest, the criminal investigators investigating the case searched the man's apartment. There they found a firearm and ammunition, which the 46-year-old did not have a permit for.
In addition, investigators found that the 46-year-old had visited his mother in the hospital a few days earlier and had stolen her jewelry. When leaving the hospital, he insulted and threatened a nurse.
He faces up to 12 years in prison
After spending another night in a police cell, the man was taken to the Katowice-Południe District Prosecutor's Office, where he was charged with illegal possession of weapons, making criminal threats and daring theft, for which he was sentenced to up to 12 years in prison. The suspect allegedly committed the last two crimes while acting in conditions of recidivism.
The court agreed to the prosecutor's request and decided to arrest the man for three months.
