An autopsy of a 17-year-old from Chorzów, found in neighboring Katowice, confirmed that there were no injuries on the boy’s body. What was the cause of his death? This has not yet been disclosed by the prosecution.

The body of a teenager, a resident of Chorzów, remained found Saturday morning in the backyard of a tenement house at st. Stanislaus in the center of Katowice. It is a block of Mariacka Street, the entertainment promenade of the capital of the Silesian Voivodeship. There are clubs and bars which are frequented by many young people on weekends.

The investigation launched in this case is conducted in terms of involuntary manslaughter. The head of the Katowice-Południe District Prosecutor’s Office, Sławomir Barnaś, said that the autopsy was carried out on Tuesday morning at the Department of Forensic Medicine of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice.

The results of the autopsy are in, the interviews of witnesses are underway

– We expect a written post-mortem opinion tomorrow (Wednesday – ed.) and until we receive it, we do not comment on the cause of death. I can only say that this autopsy confirmed that no injuries were found on the body of the deceased, added prosecutor Barnaś.

As he noted, other procedural steps are also pending as part of the ongoing proceedings, including interviewing witnesses. Details of the findings of the investigation so far will be released by the prosecutor’s office on Wednesday.
