There was a fatal accident near Kępno (Greater Poland Voivodeship) on Tuesday. The 19-year-old drove a BMW into a cyclist who was following a bicycle path in accordance with the regulations. The 72-year-old died, the police said. According to preliminary findings, the driver “did not adjust the speed to the road conditions”.
The accident happened on Tuesday around 3 p.m. between Grębanin and Kępno. Sergeant Rafał Stramowski, a press officer of the Kępno police, presented the preliminary findings of the policemen. – The 19-year-old passenger car from Mroczenia, most likely, did not adjust the speed to the road conditions and lost control of the vehicle – he said.
The BMW driver hit the trees first and then the cyclist who was driving correctly on the cycle path. A 72-year-old woman died.
The 19-year-old was taken with the passengers on command. No charges have yet been brought against him.
