82 people went to hospitals due to the food poisoning of listeners of the Border Guard Training Center in Kętrzyn (Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship). For now, it is not known what could be the source of Salmonella. Sanepid explains it.
The number of hospitalized increased from 71 to 82. According to the spokeswoman of the Warmian-Masurian Border Guard Department, Major Mirosława Aleksandrowicz, medical services decided to refer to the hospital.
Symptoms of food poisoning with different severity occurred last Tuesday at 153 listeners of the Border Guard Training Center in Kętrzyn. These were diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain and increased body temperature. 13 listeners were hospitalized on the first day, for the next two days this number increased to 47 people.
As Major Aleksandrowicz said, medical staff is still present at the Border Guard Training Center in Kętrzyn, which in the event of a worse well -being of one of the listeners qualifies him to the hospital. She added that these people went to hospitals, among others in Giżycko, Bartoszyce, Pisz, Ostróda, Biskupiec and Elbląg.
Classes have been canceled
Program classes at the Border Guard Training Center in Kętrzyn were suspended from Wednesday, they are not taking place over the weekend.
According to sanitary services, based on research downloaded for analysis from the so -called Symptomatic people were found by the Salmonella bacterium. Sanitary He conducts an epidemiological investigation to determine the source of Salmonella. – We are waiting for the results of testing of food and water samples – said Major Aleksandrowicz.
According to unofficial information, listeners who had symptoms of food poisoning ate meals at the nutrition point at the Border Guard Department Headquarters.
Crisis team

The case of collective food poisoning in the Kętrzyn Border Guard Training Center will be clarified by the police. The notification of suspected crime under Article 160 of the Penal Code (i.e. exposure to a direct danger of losing his life or severe damage to health) was submitted on Wednesday by a representative of the Border Guard.

The Border Guard Training Center in Kętrzyn is one of the three training centers of this formation, next to the School of Border Guard in Koszalin and the Border Guard Specialist Training Center in Lubań. Currently, about 300 officers are trained there.
