“Good and constructive meeting” on lowering health insurance contributions. Politicians speak out

Finance Minister Andrzej Domański commented on the meeting on the health insurance contribution in a short post on social media. “We have a very good and constructive meeting with representatives of Poland 2050 on the health insurance contribution. We are looking for the best solution,” he wrote on the X platform.

Ryszard Petru commented more broadly on the talks. – We agreed that we will now work on a working basis, at the Excel level, so that in the coming weeks we can work out a good solution for all professionally active people, especially entrepreneurs – he told journalists after the meeting, which we can read about at wnp.pl.

He also added that working meetings of Poland 2050 politicians and directors and deputy directors of departments of the Ministry of Finance will be held in the coming days. – This is supposed to be a coalition project at the end of the day, not just ours. We are glad that we initiated it, but it is important that the entire coalition supports it and ensures that Andrzej Duda has no choice but to sign it – commented Petru.

Several project proposals on reducing health insurance contributions. The coalition must reach an agreement

As we have already discussedaccording to the ministers of finance and health new the act would assume that most entrepreneurs would pay a contribution of a fixed amount of 9% calculated from 75% of the minimum salaries. Those on the tax scale would pay the same amount throughout the year, while those on a flat-rate or lump sum would pay a higher contribution once they exceeded a given limit.

According to Poland 2050, contributions should depend on the amount of income and amount to 4.7 or 9.4 percent of the average monthly salary. The Left has proposed this tax from health, amounting to 9%, paid by people who are on PIT and CIT. The last of the ideas, i.e. the PSL proposal, would assume a 9% health contribution with the possibility of deducting a larger part of it from taxes.
