There will be a second round of elections for the mayor of Kielce. According to the exit poll conducted by the National Research Group for the website Lokalnapolityka.pl, the candidate of the Civic Coalition, Agata Wojda, won 37.4 percent of the votes, and Marcin Stępniewski from Law and Justice received 22.5 percent of support. The podium is closed by Maciej Bursztein from the Przyjazne Kielce committee, for whom 21.2 percent of voters voted. The differences are so small that it is difficult to predict who will advance to the second round.

The current president of Kielce, Bogdan Wenta, resigned from running for re-election. Seven candidates fought for the position of mayor of this city. It is already known that the second round of the presidential elections will take place.

Wojda is an urban and social activist who has been fighting for the rights of LGBTQ people for years. She was also a councilor of the City Council in the 2014-2018 term. In the 2018 local elections, she became a councilor again. Second place was taken by Marcin Stępniewski from Law and Justice, who received 22.5 percent of support. In 2018, he was elected as a councilor from the PiS list and sat on the City Council.

Rounding out the podium in the fight for the mayor of Kielce is Maciej Bursztein from the Przyjazne Kielce committee, for whom 21.2 percent of voters voted. He was elected to the Kielce City Council in 2018 from the Świętokrzyskie Project list of Bogdan Wenta.

The difference between the second and third candidates is only just over 1 percent. Therefore, it is not yet known who will ultimately enter the second round.

Election results. Turnout in Kielce

The next ones were taken by Kamil Suchański – 11 percent, Marcin Chłodnicki – 5.8 percent, Adam Cyrański 4.0 percent and Agata Marjańska 0.5 percent. According to data from the National Electoral Commission, turnout in Kielce was 38.98 percent as of 5 p.m.
