When the drunk 46-year-old noticed the approaching policemen, he tried to escape on foot. He was not successful – the video from the body-worn camera of one of the officers shows that the chase lasted only for several dozen meters, and at the end the police found the driver lying on the ground by the fence of the property, which he failed to jump over.
A report about a drunk BMW driver in the Ślichowice housing estate in Kielce was received at the beginning of January by the local police officer. A police patrol went to the site. The police noticed a man parking a car matching the description.
A short chase
“When the uniformed officers arrived near the German car and got out of the police car, the man, seeing them, quickly got out of the vehicle and started to run away. The uniformed officers quickly followed him, and after a dozen or so seconds the chase ended. The man did not manage to jump over the fence he encountered on the property,” we read in a police statement.

The recording from the camera on one of the policemen's uniforms, published by the Świętokrzyskie police, shows the entire short chase. The officer can also be heard shouting to the retreating 46-year-old “come here, police!” and after handcuffing him, he asks why he was running away. However, the man does not answer.
It turned out that the BMW driver was drunk and had over 2.5 per mille of alcohol in his body. He faces up to three years in prison, a driving ban of several years and a heavy fine.
