Police officers from Kielce detained a 33-year-old woman suspected of defrauding five people. The woman allegedly pretended to be an employee of a cooperative or an energy company and thus entered the apartments and then robbed them.
The fraud took place in Kielce (Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship) between 4 and 6 October last year. The flats of five women, aged 84 to 94, were knocked on the door by a stranger claiming to work for a housing association or an energy company. She talked about the need to replace the meters.
“The woman also asked seniors for the last episode pensionwhich was supposedly used to fill out the necessary documentation. However, it was just an excuse to distract women from what the thief was going to do, “says the Świętokrzyskie police. The scammer took cash and jewelry, in total she looted nearly PLN 35,000.
Detention of a 33-year-old
A 33-year-old suspected of committing these frauds was detained on Tuesday in Łódź by officers from the Department of with Crime Against Property of the Kielce police station.
“Now the woman will answer to the court for her behavior. For theft, she may face a penalty of up to five years in prison,” the police announce.
