The tragic accident occurred on the national road No. 11 in Kijewo (Greater Poland Voivodeship). The 75-year-old driver, who for unknown reasons led to a head-on collision with another car on Sunday morning, died despite resuscitation. Four people were injured in the accident, including a three-year-old child.
The duty officer of the Road Information Point of the Poznań branch of GDDKiA reported that after 11, on the 316th km of the national road No. 11, on the section between Środa Wielkopolska and Jarocin, two passenger cars collided.
Sub-inspector Iwona Liszczyńska from the press team of the Wielkopolska police told PAP that, according to preliminary findings, a 75-year-old man driving a Renault car for unknown reasons drove to the opposite lane and led to a head-on collision with a Citroen driving in the opposite direction.

“As a result of the collision, despite resuscitation, the Renault driver died, while the woman driving the Citroen and three passengers – a woman, a man and a child aged 3 – were transported to the hospital” – described the policewoman.
After the accident, the road remains completely blocked. The police introduced detours leading from the side of Poznań through the national road No. 11 to the provincial road No. 432 in the direction of Zaniemyśl, and from the side of Jarocin from the national road No. 11 leading to the national road No. 15 through Miąskowo and then Miłosław towards Września.
Traffic disruptions may last until 4 p.m.
