In the state of emergency near Klimówka, a police helicopter crew found the body of a 24-year-old Syrian on Wednesday. This was announced by the spokesman of the Podlasie voivodeship headquarters. The deceased was in Belarus from mid-September.
The spokesman of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Białystok, Tomasz Krupa, informed on Thursday that the day before, the police helicopter crew, while patrolling the area under the state of emergency near Klimówka, found the body of a man in the field. He is a 24-year-old Syrian citizen. The police said that he had visa documents and had been in Belarus since mid-September.
Under the supervision of the prosecutor, the police are explaining the circumstances of the death.
The state of emergency at the border with Belarus
A state of emergency has been in force on the border zone since September 2. Journalists and activists from non-governmental organizations, among others, are not allowed there. All available information comes from the Border Guard and government officials. The state of emergency, initially for 30 days, was extended from October 1 for a further 60 days. According to the government, the migration crisis at the border is caused by the regime of Alyaksandr Lukashenka. Belarus’s actions are called a “hybrid war against Poland”.
